Hand #209 Inkspots 70 Feet Up

Pinkie and Pointer could not wait to race to the top...70 feet up! Mr and Mrs Inkspot huffed and puffed their way to the top....oh what a view! They visited the Port Isabel Light House in the heart of Port Isabel, Texas. The top of the of the tower offers a 16 mile view. The light house was built in 1852 as a working beacon for vessels entering the Brazos Santiago Pass.

Hand #207 Inkspots say WHAT?!

While on vacation the Inkspots made a spontaneous stop at Bobz World of the Seven Seas. From the looks of the large outdoor display of tropical fish, jungle animals, and dinosaurs, Mr and Mrs Inkspot had hoped Bobz World would be a children's adventure; a place of games, fun facts...a museum of sorts. After all, the outside display was attractive and drew them in from the road, with a large sign that read Grand Opening!  It appeared to be a fun indoor place for Pinkie and Pointer to let off some energy. BUT, as they walked through the shark mouth... through the glass doors, they discovered... WHAT?! A Tourist Trap! There was no indication that this was a store! Souvenirs abound, from hats, shirts, frames, brick-a-brack and shells from all over the world. Mr and Mrs Pointer laughed out loud as they walked briskly through the large store in disbelief, before heading back to the car to be on their way. In addition to the laughter, the only other delight was the fun family photo opportunity.

Hand # 206 Message Center

While waiting on a prescription at the local drug store, I asked where the Ladies Room was. The clerk left her station and showed me the way, through a large set of doors, by a water fountain and past the employee lounge area... Yahoo!  I stopped dead in my tracks to take this "hand" photo of their employee message center... hands are where you find them!
Made my day...

Hand #202 Gobbler

In celebration of this Thanksgiving Holiday, "Hand Turkey" art work

If anyone would have told me at the young age of 54 I would be finger painting a Turkey for Thanksgiving, I would have thought they were out of their mind.
Painting a turkey is less labor intensive and more fun than cooking one!

Happy Thanksgiving to all!

Hand #198 Crystal Ball

I have passed by many a Palm Reader since starting this hand blog. This lighted hand sign is my favorite, which just happens to be in our area of town.  Made a quick U-Turn in traffic to pull in their parking lot for this photo. The Crystal Ball caught my attention too. I didn't know people really read crystal balls, did you? I'm curious.....

Hand #191 Anticipation

I enjoy the Christmas Holiday, but I must say, I enjoyed it more back in the day when the decorations and visiting Santa did not occur until after Thanksgiving. Today John and I had our first official "touch" of Christmas at our local mall.

Hand #190 Bar Code

Picking off bar code labels from the produce we purchase weekly can be very frustrating and time consuming. I turned the task into fun and created this "Bar Code" hand.

Did you know?
1966 ~ Bar code was first used commercially

1970 ~ the Universal Grocery Products Identification Code or UGPIC was
written U.P.C. symbol set or Universal Product Code

1974 ~ the first U.P.C. scanner was installed at a Marsh's supermarket in Troy, Ohio. The first product to have a bar code included was a packet of Wrigley's Gum.

Today I was in a 4 car accident... I was sitting stopped .... looked right... then as I looked left.... I see a car comming at me out of control, I braced for the ... BOOM! A SUV hit a Truck , Truck hit a Honda and Honda plowed into the drivers side of my car. Life happens. My blog for today was created during my visit to the ER. Diagnosed with sprained neck and muscle spasms. I am grateful I'm OK along with the others involved... car can be fixed and/or relpaced....
Hands in the ER...  on the hand soap, paper towel dispenser and my hand pointing at the white board. My nurse was Andy. He took great care of me!

Hand #184 Sit

This is an illustration of both hands... Right Hand and Left Hand
With election day fast approaching, I couldn't help it... had to break out the sharpie marker and draw on the cover of Time Magazine

In 1789, the French National Assembly was created as a parliamentary body to move control of issues, such as taxation, from the king to the citizenry. Inside the chamber where the National Assembly met, members of the Third Estate sat on the left side and members of the First Estate sat on the right. The Third Estate consisted of revolutionaries, while the First Estate were nobles. Thus, the left wing of the room was more liberal, and the right wing was more conservative.
