the warmth of the mid morning sun felt so good... reached out to touch it with my hand ... realized there are only 65 posts left to create.... WOW! I see the light at the end of the tunnel and it's bright like the sun!
trees are about to burst open... Pollen is in the air.... spring is just around the corner.... inspiring me to create this "hand" tree... traced my arm and hand... added branches & buds
A new Yellow Pages Book was in my mail box today.... have not referenced one of these in years. Today was an exception....I looked up "handyman", broke out the glitter and made a hand on the page... now off to the recycle bin it goes.
I tinker around with these two when I am sitting at my desk... they are always holding hands... hanging on! There's not too many magnetic things in my office to stick them to.... favorite spot is the top of my three drawer file holder.
Ran the ConocoPhillips Rodeo Run 10K race this morning along with 15,000 other participants here in Houston Texas. Look what I ran into...... Howdy Hands! Capturing these photos was a bit of work...I spotted them between mile 4 and 5, so I was well into my pace...clipping along, focused and intent on getting a good time. I had to slow down, keep pace behind them, unzip my pouch, take out cell phone, remove sun glasses so I could see to operate my iPhone, pull up camera App and snap photo, all while running behind them. These two photos shaved some time off my run, but I did not care. I was elated to run up on these "hands" on the run ... making this race extra special :)
Very busy... road trip Thursday and Friday...had company for the weekend... not able to post hand from yesterday until today .... grabbing hot cup of chamomile tea late last night.... hand to handle, mug to mouth movement... ahhhh
if your hands are exposed to a harsh environment ... cold, wind, water etc. on a regular basis, I highly recommend this product. I learned about this product at a dental meeting. Those who work in the health care setting are constantly washing their hands and gloving up... this product forms a barrier and keeps hands looking and feeling great. I highly recomment it... www.fitebac.com
Today I completed my application and prototype for Art-O-Mat. Here's one partial view of the box, created to specifications. Contents: one magnaficant hand sculpture
It may take a while to find out if my work has been accepted... fingers crossed
Thank goodness we have full "Geek" support for our laptop and I can contact them 24/7 if I need assistance. This Monday morning began with frustration.... I was not able to print from Adobe ... turned over my mouse to Howard, the expert... my "virtual hand"... I watched as he moved the mouse around through my computer software ...clicking here and there... uninstalling and installing to repair issue.... SUCCESS! My hand ... My mouse .... ready to go to work now
due to our recent postage increase, it was necessary for me to purchase additional stamps for postcards... this is the 0.1 cent stamp... Tiffany Lamp... with a stamp hand value off 0.44 cents
spending the day on the St Lucie River in South Florida .... here's my attempt to take a photo of my left hand reflection in the river. I was frightened my iPhone would fall in the water and I would follow it in off the dock... dizziness set in watching the wakes from passing boats distort the left hand image as I was trying to focus to take the picture ... this looks interesting....
Visiting my parents in South Florida for a few days. My mom passes this sidewalk hand on her daily morning walks... excited to be with her today to share in the joy of this find for my hand blog! Those of you who follow my blog know, these are my favorite finds! Thank you Mom ... I Love You
Ran the Rhythm and Blues Half Marathon today. The Bling we received at the finish line covered the palm of my "hand"! Ran in the elements today... wind and rain... the race route presented with hills... made for a tough run. My chip time 2:23:09.2
Friday morning I attended a special Grandparents' Chapel. Our nieces daughter Campbell was in the production. She sang and said her lines with confidence and character. We were so proud of her!
Their school has been under expansion the past few years... new class rooms, new auditorium, dance room, art center and a new gym in the works. It has been remarkable to see the progress each year when we visit.
After the show, we visited her 4th grade classroom and met her teacher. When we were leaving, Campbell took me by the hand and lead me down another hallway, to show me these two very special "hands" outside her old classroom door. This classroom was made possible.... this generous gift of kindness and love from her parents... leaving a legacy behind in honor of their two children.
I am amazed how "hands" appear in my blog... their stories of discovery... some so very close to my heart...
why, oh why, do I bring this stuff home? Here's a small sample from our box of hotel toiletries... the "palm" towel placed in center is mine. I don't take the towels!
Today's post inspired by "The Circle Maker" by Mark Batterson. Praying circles around your biggest dreams and greatest fears. I had the pleasure of meeting Mark Batterson today and hearing his testimony. Mark inspires us to pray boldly, the kinds of prayers that change us and the world around us. With my right and left hand, painted this circle measuring 23" by 23" I have BIG dreams that require BIG BOLD prayers!
It's Time.... February 1, 2013; the launch of the first of many hands for my "Lend A Hand" Project. I am sending these hands I created, into the world with instruction to perform acts of kindness to help others. I have set up a special email to collect their stories with photo if possible and will post them on my Hand Blog as they come in. I am excited to read about their journey and find out how far they travel. Each hand is numbered for tracking. I'm also hopeful that I will be able to continue "Lend A Hand" Blog entries long after this 365 Day Project is completed.
