Hand #149 Name Game
While making this banana hand, I began singing the Name Game song I learned as a child. Using the name Katie as an example, the song follows this pattern:

Hand #147 SYNERGY
While walking in downtown Denver CO I came across this large piece of beautiful "hand" art, titled SYNERGY. It was created commemorating an endowment for the Center for Entrepreneurs University of Colorado at Denver. An entrepreneur myself, this spoke to me. I could not have started my company without the help of others. I count my blessings daily. I'm grateful for past and continued support and encouragement from all who have and continue to have a hand in my success!

Hand #144 Inkspots Visit Denver
Mr and Mrs Inkspot, Pointer and Pinkie took a quick trip to Denver Colorado this past weekend. They arrived happy, safe and sound! Thankful.... after their previous adventure, where they were tossed around in their luggage and lost for three days! Their room at the Hyatt had a great view! Once settled in, they took the light rail to Sports Authority Field at Mile High. Home to the Denver Broncos football team. The tour was AWESOME. Their favorite highlights; going in the visiting team locker room, touring the press box, and standing on the field!

Hand #143 Dangling
Wandering the streets of Venice we came across a flea market, full of interesting items. I especially liked this lovely wooden statue..... she appeared to have been through trauma over time, scratched and damaged in areas....her right hand was dangling by a wire... could not resist holding it for this photo...all the while, wishing I could bring her home, fix her up and place her in my office.

Hand #141 Dali
While in Venice Italy we visited the largest collection of Dali sculptures in Italy. His work is so intense...some times obvious and some times more subtle. The Dali Universe Venice exhibit was AWESOME! My favorite work of his, the melted clock titled Profile of Time. What a joy to see the original work of art (melted clock over tree branches). Here below is an example of the melted clock in a hand (to my delight - a HAND!) one of many souvenirs for purchase.

Hand #138 Celebration
Yesterday was my last run before the 26.2 mile Marathon in Denver this Saturday, Sept 22nd (my 54th birthday). This last training run was one of closure, reflection and excitement in anticipation of crossing the finish line in celebration of my continued health, life & birthday. I went out for a 4 mile run and took a route through shady, tree lined neighborhood streets..peaceful and quiet except for the occasional dog bark and chirping bird. Look what I found! A HAND! (this is the second "on the run" hand discovery ~ see Hand#110 The Extra Mile)
When I returned home, I hopped in my car, returning to spot to photograph for this Blog. It took me a while to find the hand again and I think a few of the neighbours were peeking out their windows wondering what I was up to. I spied the hand to the left of the first shadow forward, near the gutter, in the photo below. The hand was faint around thumb and palm area, as it appeared to have been there for a long time. This beautiful 'Hand' discovery was the perfect Denver send off ~ made my day!

Hand #137 Safety
I often tag along with my husband on business trips. While he attends meetings during the day, I find myself often venturing out alone. I'm always up for exploring! As preached to me in survival and safety classes I've attended ~ always be aware of your surroundings. My experience in Venice Italy was a good one, uneventful, I felt safe. I photographed a few hands that mattered... (hotel fire alarm, No Entry sign at pier & hands of Venice Police in San Marco)

Hand #136 Save Lives
Handwashing: Clean Hands Save Lives
Keeping hands clean through improved hand hygiene is one of the most important steps we can take to avoid getting sick and spreading germs to others. Many diseases and conditions are spread by not washing hands with soap and clean, running water. If clean, running water is not accessible, as is common in many parts of the world, use soap and available water. If soap and water are unavailable, use an alcohol-based hand sanitizer that contains at least 60% alcohol to clean hands.
I lathered up, washing both hands, but by the time I dried my left hand, picked up my phone to take this picture, the bubbles began to disapate.

Hand #135 Inkspots visit Venice Italy
Mr and Mrs Inkspot, Pointer and Pinkie were excited to be taking their first family vacation out of the U.S. After being lost for three days in luggage, routed through Germany, Switzerland, and Rome... finally arriving in Venice Italy.... bent, torn, tired and damp.... what an adventure!
Wasting no time, they strolled the walkways and traveled the waterways of Venice. Pointer and Pinkie enjoyed all the boat rides. Mr Inkspot ate lots of pasta. Pointer's favorite thing was seeing the inventions and drawings of Leonardo da Vinci ~The Genius of Leonardo da Vinci. Mrs Inkspot loved the Opera ~ G. Verdi Latraviata (brought her to tears) and Pinkie's favorite thing, ice cream!

Hand #134 Graffio
While strolling near Campo S. Trovaso in Venice Italy last week on vacation, I found an old building marked with graffiti. Hand prints were part of the works. It's sad to see these very historic buildings defaced...yet still the smiling hand warmed my heart. Touching it, I could not help but smile back.
Did you know? .... the word graffiti is derived from the Italian word graffio (“scratch”)

Hand #129 Hepburn
"Remember, if you ever need a helping
hand, you'll find one at the end of your arm. . . . As you grow older you
will discover that you have two hands. One for helping yourself, the other
for helping others." ~ Audrey Hepburn

Hand #120 No Body
Went shopping at Academy Sports for rubber boots to bring to Venice, Italy. While walking throughout the store I found a mannequin arm just laying on top of a pile of "stuff".... no body attached..... just a lovely arm with hand....
I could not help it... I picked it up and walked around the store taking "hand" photos. I gave her a "High 5" for making my day!
FUN!
Even the store employees were laughing. My husband said I could not buy it. We never spotted the female body it was missing from...so sad to place it back on the pile of "stuff"
