Hand #237 Meeker

For Christmas we received this bottle of Meeker Merlot 2008 from Sonoma Country. This is a very special wine bottle (to me anyway).... it's from the Winemakers' Handprint Collection. I just love the bottle and curious to know what the Merlot inside will taste like! Saving this wine for a special occasion ~ the 365th day of my hand blog would be fitting, don't you think!

Hand #234 Santa

At the mall, I lingered a long while near "The North Pole" watching Santa. He drew me in. For a fleeting moment I wanted to jump in his lap and share my Christmas list. Santa must have known about my Blog.... as he intentionally placed his white gloved hand down, making it stand out against the deep green of his sleigh, just for me .....he smiled at me..... I giggled with delight as I snapped this photo. This is SANTA!
Santa Clause presents with kind and loving hands, that reach out to give Hope and Joy, as he makes wishes come true ... a wonderful sweet spirit, has he. As I witnessed this precious child sharing her Christmas list with such wonderment, all the while reflecting back on my children's Christmas visits with Santa.... my heart was full of Joy .... Merry Christmas Stephen and Caroline, Love You XO

Hand #233 Tinsel

I remember as a child, watching my Mom put the final touches on our Christmas tree. Taking her time, she would place the tinsel icicles perfectly on each branch, several strands at a time... from top to bottom, our tree was so sparkly and beautiful. Through out the week we would find tinsel strands from the tree make their way around the house, some even lingering long after Christmas.
Reflecting back on this memory, the idea to make a sparkly "Tinsel Hand" came to mind. I definitely did not inherit my Mother's talent. What a big mess I made with this tinsel! There are strands of tinsel all over our house. I'm smiling..... thinking of Christmas past...Merry Christmas Mom, Dad and Carla
Love You XO

Play-Doh Fun!
Hand size is a little larger than a quarter. Play-Doh has changed over the years....it's now much softer when you first take it out of the container and the strong fragrance I remember as a child is gone. It now comes in so many fun colors too. Looking forward to creating more with Play-Doh...

Hand #212 Shark Bite

I pray this is the closest my hand will ever come to a shark!

A shark bite in a beer can.  Made me sad and at the same time furious to think what we are doing to our oceans and the sea life that inhabit the vast sea. Yes, I did bring this unique find home with me for a reminder and conversation piece.
